Program Details
From August 4-15, 2010, Russia: Making Connections is offering a travel opportunity based on the theme of peace through cultural understanding. This unique program, titled “Russia: A Journey of Peace” is offered in collaboration with:
The Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York City
The Pavlovsk Palace Museum in St. Petersburg
The Museum of Oriental Arts in Moscow
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation
“Russia: A Journey of Peace,” is a thirteen day institute which enables participants to connect with “real” Russian people who can offer an intimate, first-hand look at their astounding country.
Throughout these days, participants will be accompanied by and learn from notable scholars, experts, historians and residents of St. Petersburg and Moscow who know and passionately love their cities.
This program has been designed for the serious student of Russian art and history, as well as for individuals who simply want an in-depth understanding of this truly unique country. Connections between culture and peace will be emphasized just as these themes were so important in the lives and work of Alexandr A. Razvin and Nicholas Roerich.
In an effort to maximize the richness of this cultural experience and to deepen appreciation of Russian architecture, art and history for each attendee, this program will be limited to only twenty participants.
